Garden Delights

Josh and I have been busy in our garden. When he suggested planting corn I was skeptical. But we’ve had a great crop this season.

We got some cross-pollinated kernels which was not part of the plan. Next year we’ll plant more strategically. The purple corn is so gorgeous I put one on the mantlepiece for display. Josh has been making delicious polenta from our corn.

We planted a variety of tomatoes this season, but the small green ones are our favorite.

We tried growing potatoes in buckets this year. They ended up being smaller but they’re still tasty, especially when made into poutine.

Another perk of gardening is trading veggies with friends and neighbors. One of our neighbors brought us some squash. They were so tasty they didn’t need any extra spicing.
