Knitting Ocean Waves

Knitting Ocean Waves

I made these fingerless gloves for my friend Marie. The pattern is one I’ve made before. The repeating shell/wave pattern spirals around as you knit it up.

The yarn she chose enhanced the wave motif. I let the color transitions happen naturally and really like how they are similar yet different.

It was fitting that I was knitting waves this spring. No sooner had I finished this pattern than Josh and I were heading to the coast for a weekend getaway.

Though it was cold, seeing the ocean again was deeply fulfilling. Josh and I found this driftwood shelter/sculpture in our wanderings.

Speaking of sculpture, this darling one is on the main street going through Manzanita. It is called “A Delicate Balance” and was made by artist Wayne Chabre.
